a babysitter's diary (1)

The baby will be 3 months old tomorrow. Twice a week I am his babysitter. It might seem tiring to some, but I find it amazingly comforting sometimes, simply by playing with him, holding him, looking at him, etc.
Today, I saw him holding his own milk bottle for the first time...
Take it easy, my dear little boy... :)

Life is in a way rather simple, at least at this very minute. Staring at this amazing babe lying right next to me..., I am enjoying this rare moment of pure concentration.

'Write, or I'll die' -- Piano Magic
An impressive song playing in both my head and iPod:
Goodbye is nothing new but it's last breath when said by you...
And this world shrinks to a room - weather inside snowfall soon...
No bookcase can rescue a man - only a letter of sorry can...
Handle with care if only you dare
I'm sensitive, touch sensitive
I have a photograph - mid-heaven, post-laughter...
Eyes shine ridiculous - illuminate the both of us...
In the fold of a camera's eye, in the time it takes to sigh, I open up an ashen heart, pour out a thousand whys...
Handle with care if only you dare, etc...
Write or I'll die.
Handle with care, etc...

SNOWFALL SOON (Words - GA Johnson)
Rain starts on you as your goodbye runs me through...Goodbye is nothing new but it's last breath when said by you...

Faith Yang singing in Beijing
singing the love and the accompanying bitterness...
Like Beth Gibbons, Faith Yang's music has been so consolatory...

the tv drama and love
She cries so much: apparently heart-broken and absolutely perplexed, I mean the heroine in that drama on telly. All those tears rolling down because of the complicated love triangle! Anyone like me could easily imagine what it's like to be her. Too cliche and too predictable. She really should not linger any longer, she could go away, shorten the sad time, be free, have a new start, the world is grand...but reasoning has no use here, really. Love dominates. She just cannot help it, in a dreamlike little world of hers, she reminds herself again and again of the pain she feels, stuck and in need of a way out.

Mother's Day

I look like my mother, but she really is much kinder.
My mother is wise. She dreams and makes every endeavour to realise it if it's right.
I also make efforts, but I'm not so wise.
I've got her support, to explore the world, to live a free life! Then we constantly talk about the world in my eyes. She is quite a listener.
She is sometimes exasperated: That is when she sees that I fail to notice I'm in pursuit of unrealistic goals, or wasting time on something frothy.
But she knows what a mother should do. She understands life well. She understands me well. She shows me what love is. And life.
She is a happy person.
I'd like to make her happier.
Happy Mother's Day to my mother.

My father is a happy person.
From a family of amiable parents--an endless supply of love since childhood--he is truly loved. He always reveals to us that he is happy and contented.
Whatever he does he tries his best and enjoys it. He's successful at work, a good tennis player, a backpacker traveller, a father, a husband, a man. You sense his quiet passion in his ways of life. He may be reserved, he may not tell you in a poem about the beauty of some seaside, but he remembers delicate details and you're usually moved by how gentle and subtle he can be.
He is also a good friend, he forgives those who take advantage of him, he is independent, well, dependent only on my mother maybe, but he lets others rely on him. Reliable.
He is the man with a beautiful soul. Generous, kind-hearted, devoted, truthful, open-minded...
Happy birthday to my father.

Wedding Invite

<--engagement party------
My brother is getting married on 18th December 2006.
Delighted by the good news, I thought of this poem 'To Us' by Soleil, here's a stanza:
they say,
You found the other half!
you do not make me complete, as I am already complete
you make me better
[read the poem]
I like the romantic reasoning on love in this, and also I'm exceedingly proud of my brother, who has the mentality to create happiness, and the immense courage to love. I am happy for them.

stars
'Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.'
Romeo and Juliet 3.2.22-4
A was fascinated by a news article about new galaxies and how loads more stars will be born, that reminded me of what Juliet says about Romeo... (quoted above...)
I remember, 3 years ago, one night I walked back to my Halifax room, on my way I noticed it was a gorgeous starry night...I also remember before a friend left York not long ago, he said that he would miss the stars that could easily be seen here, but not where he's from.
He probably doesn't understand how dearly he's the moon in another girl's eyes.
Back in summer 1998, travelling with collegemates in an island called 'green' in the middle of the night we sat by the sea and I remember I sang a song called '星星堆滿天' which means a sky full of stars, although that was a pretty cloudy night..
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun.'

smiling featly--for J
...have been chatting with J about her recent romantic feelings towards a certain young man with a pair of black-framed glasses. ^^ If this were a while ago I would have simply discourged her from stirring up his attention--this guy apparently has a sweetheart of his own. However, nowadays I see beauty in such sudden passion and whether or not it'll turn into a massive success or end up J breaking her/his/his girlfriend's heart(s), who knows. Just happy to see pure love still exists, fervently. ^^
Good luck my dear J.

...and just then, we were on briefly about... fidgety situations.
Hmm, could it be absolute lust? Could it, could it??
Which perfume? What shape is his mustache!?
Beware of burning, beware...
Good luck my dear J.
