As You Like It, III.ii

259-264

Jaques: Rosalind is your love’s name?

Orlando: Yes, just.

Jaques: I do not like her name.

Orlando: There was no thought of pleasing you when she was christened.

277-289

Jaques: The worst fault you have is to be in love.

Orlando: ‘Tis a fault I will not change for your best virtue.

Jaques: By my troth, I was seeking for a fool when I found you.

Orlando: He is drowned in the brook. Look but in and you shall see him.

Jaques: There I shall see mine own figure.

Orlando: Which I take to be either a fool, or a cipher.

Jaques: I’ll tarry no longer with you. Farewell good Signior Love.

Orlando: I am glad of your departure. Adieu good Monsieur Melancholy.

haha Shakespeare makes me smile... I was laughing at this in the library yesterday so I posted it here as well... :)

Glad you found something good.

don't you think how he says good bye is a good example of politely being rude? haha.. (what the nonesense am i putting this...) I mean, 'good bye melancholy' sounds fine, right? therefore, calling Jaques 'mr. melancholy' is making it less rude to say 'i'm glad you're gone'!

anyway, i've been enjoying this kind of fun for years... :P i'm 'ms cipher'

kathy i just found that it's about three weeks... three weeks more of intensive writing... i think my lovely housemates are both trying to make sure i don't go insane beforehand... thanks for your attention... why not read the play? if you like i can send one to you for your birthday, what does that sound? i've never given Shakespeare play to anyone for birthday! yes? xx

He is straightforward in a polite way as you said, and I find that amusing.

I'd be happy to receive this book as a b-day gift, thank you!
