So, we saw it, and weren't especially impressed, but I guess we just didn't find it exciting or amazing. I won't say it's contrived or pointless. It does seem a bit lacking focus, but somehow I'm not too annoyed by that.
And its movie poster is rather nice.
What I quite like about this film is that it introduced to me this painting by Félix Vallotton: follow this link to take a look at it. How the kids talk about it in the film is great to listen to, and that itself is a fantastic scene.
