This is a rather violent drama, not a thriller, not a film noir either. Acting, hmm, main characters look anxious and fidgety most of the time (for a reason, apparently, but, not what I expected to see). Story, well, if I can use my most judgmental tone, I dislike how the main character Tom always gets into women's pants as easily as he wants. And his life is so shattered but his musical side (he takes piano lessons) does not erase his almost negatively dispassionate behaviours.
I might have enjoyed it if I saw it on a different day, in a different mood.
